CEO Chat

Please take a moment to read the following update from Chief Executive Officer Jeff Ellison:

Dear Team,

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Summer and is ready to make the transition into Fall before we close out 2023. Autumn has always been my most cherished time of the year. Not just because I can sit by a fire, watch football, and pull my favorite Ugg boots and fleece hoodies out of storage, but also because it has always been a time of great reflection for me.

With the changing of the seasons, we are reminded of the swift passage of time and the impermanence of all things. The days become shorter, the nights longer, and the trees begin to shed their leaves in anticipation of the upcoming Winter months. It’s a wonderful time to pause and consider all that the first half of the year has provided for us.

2023 has been a remarkable year for Commonwealth Pain & Spine. Among many successful daily accomplishments, we have also recruited some exceptional new Executives to lead our finance/accounting and ASC development efforts. We have cut the ribbon on two new clinic locations – Campbellsville and South Louisville. We have welcomed several new physicians and advanced practice providers to our team and we have completed a successful merger with the best-in-class staff at Interventional Pain Specialists in Western Kentucky.

It never ceases to amaze me what a group of talented people can do with a strong mission, a shared vision, teamwork, and a tremendous work ethic. I want to take this time to show gratitude to each of you for the part you continue to play in the growth and development of our practice.

When I first joined the CP&S team in 2016, we had 3 clinic locations and just over 40 employees. With resolve and effort, we have grown our organization to serve 21 different communities with a roster of over 400 team members – all in just over 7 years. That type of growth simply doesn’t happen without a commitment to excellence, a lot of passionate, mission-driven work, and a team that embraces constant change. Like the changing of the seasons, the only thing that has stayed the same over the years is the rate of change – getting comfortable being uncomfortable is how we go from “Good to Great” with each passing year.

I want to share an important and exciting update with you – a redesign of our corporate organizational structure that is aimed at positioning us for even greater success in the future.

As we continue to evolve, it's crucial that we adapt to the dynamic business landscape. Our commitment to excellence remains unwavering, and this redesign is a step toward achieving our goals. This redesign is simply a back-end, business entity restructuring that will impact our internal processes. Each one of you will notice very little change (such as a new name on your paystub and W2 in 2024).

In the coming weeks, you can expect to hear more as our PRC team will be sharing information and responding to your questions.

We want to reassure you that the core values and mission of Commonwealth Pain & Spine remain steadfast. Our commitment to delivering safe patient care, fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace remains at the forefront of everything we do.

We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and are grateful for your dedication. Your hard work and resilience are what make us a great company, and we look forward to achieving even greater success together in the future.

Thank you for your continued commitment to treating our patients to a better life. If you have any immediate questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your immediate supervisor or send a message to AskHR.

Sincerely,

Jeff Ellison, CEO
